Filed Under: The Home Improvement Industry GoodFellas Construction exhibited at the New England Home Show last weekend (3-1-2008).We met a variety of home owners looking for information related to their home improvement or custom building project. We were engaged in a some great conversations, and made some follow-up commitments for later in the week. We heard about a wide range of project sizes, and quality of materials going into the projects. Some homeowners want to design a beautiful and spacious kitchen, some folks were looking to build a new home. Inevitably, there are always those who want a square foot number - site unseen. What if I say $200 per square foot? Is that too much? Is it too little? What does that include? Are your needs really being met at that number? If a perspective client really needs a ballpark to understand if it is worthwhile to meet, we refer them to the Cost Versus Value Report compiled by Remodeling Magazine (Link at end of post). Even this is not fool-proof as it puts historic project numbers to certain project criteria. These projects may or may not be in comparison to yours!
